 12.03.99 Mackay Communications Acquires Raytheon Marine Field Service Locations RALEIGH, N.C. (December 3, 1999) - Mackay Communications Inc., a leader in communications and electronics equipment and services for the maritime industry, has acquired Raytheon Marine Company’s seven U.S. field service locations. The addition of the Raytheon business - four locations on the East Coast and three on the West Coast - expands Mackay’s presence to include all major U.S. ports. The new locations will operate as part of Mackay Marine, the wholly owned service division of Mackay Communications that services the marine industry. To support Raytheon’s customer base, Mackay has: hired Raytheon’s factory-trained marine technicians; made a substantial investment in spare parts and equipment inventory of Raytheon products; and committed to train numerous other Mackay Marine technicians on the Raytheon, Anscheutz and SRM product lines in the near future. In return, Raytheon has awarded Mackay a multi-year Raytheon dealership. Francis C. The port locations Mackay has added as a result of the transaction include Philadelphia and Baltimore.
