Mackay Marine Enhances Specialized Engine-Room Electronics Product Line

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 9, 2001) - Mackay Marine’s 100 years of success in serving bridge navigation and communications’ equipment needs of high-seas customers, has prompted an extension of their sales and service offerings into selected specialized products areas, including engine room electronics. Samsung Marine Automation Systems has now been added to Mackay’s list of 35+ OEM’s it represents.

Samsung Heavy Industries, based in South Korea, is the world’s largest shipbuilder. Samsung Marine Automation Systems, a division of Samsung Heavy Industries, has awarded Mackay Marine as their exclusive service repair agent in the U.S. for it’s engine room products which are installed on both Samsung-built vessels and vessels of other shipbuilders. Samsung’s automation product line include the SSAS-21 Engine Room Automation system, the SVDR-2000 Voyage Data Recorder and the NARU-2000 Integrated Navigation system.




"Servicing Samsung’s engine room sub-systems are complimentary to Mackay’s expertise in equipment from VAF Instruments, which target ballast monitors, fuel viscosity controls and positive displacement flow meters," stated Terry Babin, Mackay Marine’s Engine Room Product Line Manager.
