Globalstar GSP-1700 **PLEASE READ IMPORTANT NOTICE BELOW** The GSP-1700 is the smallest and lightest satellite phone from Globalstar. The new ergonomic design makes this handset convenient for keeping in contact from remote locations. The Globalstar phone offers an ergonomic design that makes it comfortable for hand-held operation. The phone measures 225cc in total volume and weighs 200 grams (including battery). The height is 135 mm, the width is 55 mm and the thickness is 37 mm. The antenna, when held in a vertical position, communicates with the Globalstar satellite at elevations more than 10 degrees above the horizon. The Globalstar antenna rotates and stows into the handset for convenience when not in use. The accessories for GSP1700 will be not interchangeble with the GSP1600 Satphone. Important Notice: Earlier this year Globalstar announced an anomaly in the satellite S-band antenna amplifier affecting service and call quality. A re-configuration of its satellite constellation was performed to facilitate the launch of 8 new satellites into orbit by mid-2007, of which 4 have already been launched. Subscriber's service will continue to be available; however, at certain times in any given location it will take substantially longer to establish calls and the average duration of calls may be impacted adversely.
