Globalstar, Accessory - GSC1410 Soft Docking kit The SoftCase is the ultimate versatile and easy to use accessory. It provides a Privacy Handset (CGK-0008) and a hands-free microphone and speaker. The external antenna features an 18-foot (5.5 m) cable that connects the Globalstar Electronic Module (GEM) or 'black box' securely enclosed within the SoftCase. In addition to the standard length cable there are 30-feet (9.1m), 45-feet (13.7m) and 80-feet (24.4m) antenna cable options available. An optional external cellular antenna can be easily connected to access 800 MHz AMPS or CDMA cellular service. The SoftCase has an RS-232 data interface makes it easy to attach a computer to send or receive e-mail, fax, or access a web page. A 6-feet (1.8 m) serial data cable is included. The SoftCase is powered by a 12 volt DC or 110-220 volt AC power with included adapters. There is a convenient LED power-on indicator. Installation of the satellite phone is as easy as placing the portable handset into the mounting cradle, plugging in the cigarette lighter power adapter, and mounting the magnetic mount antenna in any area that has a view of the sky. The SoftCase allows use of the satellite phone within an enclosure that would normally require a fixed satellite phone.
